Bellaturca Travel is an A-group travel agency licensed by TURSAB, based in Cappadocia and running tours across Turkey. For us, responsible travel is simple: keep the money from your trip in the regions you visit, protect the places you come to see, and share the real local culture with you. Here is what that means in practice.
What we do
- Local people in every region: in Cappadocia, our tours run with our own guides and vehicles. Across the rest of Turkey, from Istanbul to Ephesus, Pamukkale and Gobeklitepe, we work with licensed local guides and trusted local partners who know their region best.
- Small groups and private tours: our tours run in small groups or privately, which keeps our footprint light at popular sites and in village communities.
- Local businesses: we work with local restaurants, locally run hotels and local activity operators, so the money you spend stays in the regions you visit.
- Local crafts: on some tours, you can visit family workshops where pottery, carpets and onyx are made, crafts that have been passed down for generations. These visits are optional, and there is never any obligation to buy.
- Licensed operators only: we book balloon flights only with operators licensed by Turkey's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (SHGM).
- Less paper: bookings, confirmations and tickets are sent digitally, by email or WhatsApp.
How you can help
- At archaeological sites and in the valleys of Cappadocia, stay on marked paths and do not climb on ruins, fairy chimneys or rock-cut churches.
- Follow the no-photography rules where they apply, such as inside the painted churches of the Göreme Open-Air Museum. Camera flash damages the frescoes.
- At Pamukkale, walk barefoot on the white travertine terraces and only in the permitted areas.
- When visiting a mosque, dress modestly: cover shoulders and knees, women cover their hair, and everyone removes their shoes.
- Take your litter with you, including cigarette butts.
- Ask before taking photos of local people.
- Learn a few words of Turkish. "Merhaba" (hello) and "Teşekkürler" (thank you) always bring a smile.
