Not everyone wants to be in a balloon. Some people would rather photograph them, some are travelling with small children, some do not like heights, and some have already decided to spend their money elsewhere. This tour is for them. You are on the launch field in the dark while the envelopes are being inflated, close enough to feel the heat from the burners, then you watch a hundred balloons go up as the light comes. After they lift off your driver takes you to a second spot, chosen for the angle, where the whole sky is full of them with the valleys underneath. It costs a fraction of a flight and gives you the photographs that most people come here for.

What to expect

• This is a private tour. Only you and your own group take part, with your own vehicle and driver.
• The tour lasts about 90 minutes in total, including the drive to and from your hotel.
• Pick-up is in the dark, usually between 04:30 and 05:30 depending on the season. We confirm the time with you the evening before.
• You are taken onto the launch field itself while the balloons are being inflated, then to a second viewpoint after they take off.
• Hotel pick-up and drop-off in Cappadocia are included.
• There is a driver with you rather than a guide. He knows where the best light and angles are each morning.

Good to know before you book

• It is cold before sunrise in Cappadocia, even in summer. Dress in layers and wear closed shoes, as the launch field is rough ground.
• Whether the balloons fly is decided by the civil aviation authority, based on the weather. Flights are grounded more often between December and March.
• When the decision comes the day before, which is the usual case, we cancel the tour and refund you in full.
• Occasionally the decision is made at the launch field itself, minutes before take-off. This is less common, but it happens. By then the vehicle has run and you have been brought to the field, so in that case we refund 50%.
• Guests aged 17 and under come free of charge. Tell us how many are with you when you book.

• 3 to 4  people -  10% discount

• 5 to 6  people -  15% discount

• 7 to 8  people -  20% discount

• 9 to 10 people - 25% discount

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 9 hours before the flight time, which means by the evening before. Cancellations made after that, and no-shows on the morning, are charged the full amount. If the balloons are grounded the day before, we cancel the tour and refund you in full. If the decision is made at the launch field on the morning itself, we refund 50%, as the vehicle has already run. For this purpose the balloon flight time is taken as 05:00.
